| Is there a way to use Film SLR lenses on a Digital SLR camera? |
June 30, 2009 | 09:40 pm |
I recently got a Digital SLR camera (Canon Rebel XT) and my dad has several good lenses for an older film-based SLR camera. The lenses are different in the fact that the old ones have 3 "blade" type metal pieces at the bottom instead of the relatively flat new lens. Is there something I can get to use the old lenses on my new camera? I really want to use that lens
Thanks guys, will do a little more research and see if there is an adapter available.

| What are the types of digital camera lenses you see everyone use at NFL games on the sidelines with monopods? |

What are the camera lenses they use at NFL games? Usually you only see Canon for some reason, but what do you think they are using? prime fixed lens 200mm 2.8? 300mm 1.8?

| Why are film camera lenses supported on metal runners? |
June 29, 2009 | 11:22 pm |
Cameras like the Arri (for shooting celluloid) or Sony's Cine Alta and other video cameras adapted for cinema (vs. TV) have what look like two metal bars that run under the length of the camera and lens. Is it just because film lenses are heavy and need extra support? And what is the contraption called?

| What is the difference in Digital camera lenses? |
June 29, 2009 | 11:17 pm |
I want to buy digital camara but an confused about the lenses, Leica (Panasomic), Zeiss, etc. I was looking at Olympus Stylus model but there was no specs on the lens. Someone told me some lenses are glass (Leica & Zeiss) and they are the best. Olympus doesn't specify if theirs is glass or plastic. Thanks for your time.

June 29, 2009 | 11:15 pm |
I have several SIGMA lenses that I use with my current SLR from Pentax. I'm looking to go digital and I want to make sure I can use the lenses I already own with my new camera. Are the SIGMA lenses compatible with Nikon or Canon D-SLR models?

I've got an older 35 mm Canon EOS SLR. I'm seeing a lot of the 28-135mm zoom lenses on sale that come with the Canon 40D digital cameras. Can I use that lens on my film camera?

| Can I adapt my existing film SLR camera lenses to a digital SLR body? |
June 29, 2009 | 11:15 pm |
I have a Chinon CS SLR 35 mm camera with a 50mm standard lens and a 135 mm telephoto. These lenses screw on the camera body. Most newer cameras have bayonet mounts. Can I adapt the existing lenses to fit a digital SLR camera body?
