What does the AF-S ED mean on a camera lens?
What does the G mean after the F2.8?
At the end of the lens it says IF-ED, whats that stand for?

I have an older 35mm film camera with a good lens. Would this be able to be used on a Rebel Xti digital SLR? I would like to save myself some money by purchasing a "body only" XTI .
My old Rebel has a 18-55 lens, and that is the same one that comes with the Xti.
Thanks.
My dad just gave me his old Minolta film camera with 3 lenses. Minolta went out of business since he's had it but I would like to get a digital SLR camera body that would fit all the lenses he gave me. Anyone know of a digital camera body that would fit Minolta's film lenses?
My photos look really distorted, like the pixels in certain areas will be bright neon colors. If I fiddle with certain settings it's not as apparent but it's still there. I think this has something to do with the lens. Sometimes the camera will accidently turn on in the case but the lens won't be able to extend all the way because it's in there. How can I fix this?
I have a Canon SLR model 500N (that uses film rolls). Could I use the SLR lens 28-80mm with any of the latest digital cameras??
Pls provide details including the model of Digital camera.
We are looking to purchase a digital camera to use in taking photographs of wildlife on our Alaskan vacation this summer. We currently have point and shoot digital cameras but are thinking we should probably get a digital SLR with a telephoto lens. Ease of use would be helpful as we would be novices with this type of camera. Cost is not really an issue as we are looking at this as a once in a lifetime trip and want to make sure we have photos to preserve it. There is no specialty camera store anywhere near where we live so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Looking for a digital SLR. Since I have a Minolta SLR and a few lenses. I was wondering if I could use these lenses on a new digital SLR.
Minolta is now owned by Sony Corp. I found that minolta lenses with the A-mount will work with the digital SLR alpha series. I just dont know if my Maxxum 330 is an A-mount.
I'm about to buy a 35mm in a few days and I have no idea how to tell which lens will fit a certain 35 mm camera.
For example, how do I know if a 80mm lens will fit a Argus C-3? Just an example of what I'm trying to explain, hope it helped.

I want to find a fixed aperture zoom lens that will be compatible with my Nikon D40. I need it to be affordable though. Any thoughts? Do you know of any lenses?

What would be the best lens for taking close ups of lions and tigers at the zoo? I am currently using 70-300mm VR nikon and looking to take better quality shots. For some reason my images are being rejected reason being "too blurry when enlarged full size"
I'm just starting out and I'd like to take shots of rooms, and make then seem bigger than they really are, include entire buildings in a single frame and make people seem as if they are larger than life. Can anyone suggest the perfect lens for me?

I have a Minolta Maxxum 5000i 35mm SLR (single reflex lens) camera.
I'm looking for a zoom lens with a fairly wide range.
I consider myself an amateur photographer still, and just need some help understanding what these numbers mean. What lens would be best, and what else should I take into consideration?
I have a Fuji Fine Pix S5200 (super CCD) digital camera. I recently got a telephoto lense for it, and don't know how to use it, when I attach it, the pictures come out with a black border around them, and the object of the picture is framed with a black circle. This is also how they print. For some reason (the lense's were ordered offline) And no they aren't crappy brands, they didn't come with directions or manuals. My other lenses work perfect, but this one has me confused. I would appreciate the feedback. Thank you!
I need to find a digital camera that can use older SLR camera lenses. What kind of mounting system would it need to have?
