Will the "Tamron Autofocus 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD with Hood for Canon SLR Cameras lens" work on a Canon Rebel K2?

I justpurchased a Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro for my Nikon D90. Everything seems to work fine excpet when I try to focus manually (it is both an AF and manual focus lens). I switched my camera to Manual mode and still the focus ring on the lens is non responsive. I am new to slrs and this is my first lens so am I not doing something right or is the lens defective?
Thanks for any help!

I'd like to buy a zoom lens. If it says that the lens will fit any Minolta camera, am I good to go? Or do I need to buy a ring or mount or something to attatch it? If so, where can I find those?

Thank you to all the people answering these questions for me. Photography has become a new passion to me and I'm still pretty clueless about a lot of things...

Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital camera with which lenses to combine?
Please give your view on this maybe with your relevant experience in using this camera. I bought the body and very excited in choosing the lenses now.

Please state, on the current market, the best possible lenses for canon/EOS 5DMARK II

Thanks!

I have received a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro lens for a gift. I own a Olympus digital camera and this lens does not fit it. I would like to keep the lens (it was a gift) and maybe buy another camera it would fit on and I don't want to pay a lot for a second camera. Does anyone know a good cheap camera this lens will fit on? Thanks...

My dad gave me a bunch of his photography things from back in his day, I came across this amazing Rollei Magic F&H twin-lens camera and I was wondering what type of film it takes.
I tried searching on google, but I couldn't seem to find anything.
Thank you for your help guys!

Tamron Zoom Telephoto AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD Macro Autofocus Lens , should i buy a different type lens to do a wedding or will the lens i have work just fine. Thanks for any advice.

I have a Kodak and a Minolta and I am wanting to buy wide & tele lens for both. The telephoto lens will be mainly used at sporting events, so speed is important too. Any suggestions on brand, type, etc. Both cameras are Point n Shoot, hopefully I can find some good lens to hold me over until I get a dSLR.

There are so many lens' it's confusing. I want a lens that is decent to take pictures of my niece and my animals as well as landscape, baseball and football games and so on. I know there are different lens' that are best for each of these thing, but I want one that will handle them all.

SLR LENSES

I'm not looking to invest a lot of money, I would just like to have an older looking picture with a 35mm lens. I'm not familiar with film cameras so if you have any models, or old favourites, that would be great. Thanks :)

I would like to stay within the Standard Nikon zoom choices. Also which standard non - zoom AF lenses are OK to be used on the D80.

I've been doing all my photography with so-called "prosumer grade" digital cameras and have recently begun to understand the limits of those types of cameras. So I'm starting to think about buying a SLR or DSLR body and some lenses. Friends have given me differing opinions on what brand I should go with. I wanted to see what you all have to say about it.

I'm hoping to get some insight into lens quality, availability and options as well as info about the bodies themselves.

Thanks!
Sorry. I wasn't clear on what I was looking for.

I'm hoping to get facts and opinions about brands - not necessarily particular bodies - because I understand that that various brands have different selections of lenses and other accessories with different features and pros/cons on various aspects of quality and so forth. And you're sort of bound to that brand once you buy a body - at least for lenses and some accessories.

I'd like to understand the diffs between the quality and selection of lenses, mostly. Things like whether one brand has a better auto-focus mechanism for example. Or another brand has less spherical distortion in these certain lines of wide angles - that sort of thing.

Thanks!

I am currently a student in a photography class, and I need a camera that you can manually set the shutter speed and the lens opening. Does the Canon EOS Rebel TI 35mm SLR camera have the manual settings for the shutter speed and lens opening?

Is there a way to take the lens apart and set it at f3.5 or f4 manuallly, then use it on a digital Canon camera? The lens is an older model Sigma APO and won't change stops on the newer digital cameras. Was designed for film cameras.
It will change on a film camera. Can I change the stops on film cam, then put it on my digital??

I have a rebel xsi and i am looking for a good all around lens that i could use for this camera and eventually if i get a 50d that would work and be a good lens for the future

I have a fantastic Sigma 100-300mm zoom lens. I used it on my old (non-digital) Pentax SLR. I am looking to buy a new dSLR, and I'd like to get the Canon Rebel XS; however, if my Sigma lens won't work on it, I won't get it. Does Sigma work on all models?

I have a Pentax 50mm lens, a Sigma 70 - 200mm and a Sigma 500mm lens. They are all manual focus. I believe the mounting type is a Pentax K mount (bayonet fitting). Could I use them with the Pentax ist or somthing similar?

i have a telephoto lens on the nikon camera right now, but i want to put the regular lens back on to it. i cant remember though if anything will happen to the film or not if i did remove the telephoto lens thats on it and put the regular one on in its place... HELP ME PLEASE...

Are the following lenses compatible with the new digital NIKON D80?
AF NIKKOR 28-85/3,5-4,5
AF NIKKOR 70-210/1,4-5,6
AF MICRO NIKKOR 55mm/2,8

Some say there is a considerable loss of image quality. But then others say there's no problem at all, except the 1,4x focal length conversion.
