35MM slr camera UV FILTER LENS?
hi I'm quite new to traditional photography and using 35mm slr cameras, ive noticed when i try to cap the lens back on with the lens cap, i sometimes think the cap is not sitting correctly on the lens so i fiddle with it until i feel that its completely flat on, i noticed in the light my UV Filter has about several tiny scratches that you can see only in the reflection of light reflecting off the filter lens and its minor, will the pictures that i take still be fine? thanks :}

Under some lighting conditions its possible that those tiny scratches could cause problems.
In most situations they shouldn’t cause any problems.
If it really worries you then spend a few bucks and buy a new filter.
if your refering to the screw on uv filter, you will always have that issue. The screw mount on the filter is smaller(thinner) than the lens screw on front and thats why the cap will fall of, b/c it wont reach completley in. Anyways if it scratches past usuable condition, just buy a new one!
If you don’t trust a snap-on lens cap, get a screw-on type. Being harder to get it off is worth the hassle to get it on.
The UV filter, if left on the lens full-time will eventually get scratched. This means it has done its job perfectly. You should be the first to notice if the scratches are affecting your pictures. If you are bothered by them, simply replace the filter.
don’t worry, little scratches on filter will not affect to pictures
Should be okay, it depends on the focal length of the lens as well though, if its a close focusing lens such as a macro, or a wide angle used at small apertures there may be minor flare or smear when you shoot into the light.
If in doubt replace it. It’s not expensive and it’s peace of mind, this sacrificial action is kind of the point of having uv filters in the first place.
At least the much more expensive lens isn’t scratched.
