I have a Canon Rebel G (SLR) and was wanting to make the switch to a DSLR, but was wondering if the lenses from my Canon SLR would also work on a Canon DSLR (which would save me a couple hundred bucks).
Any thoughts?

Any of your Canon EF lenses will work with any of the Canon DSLR’s
What will not work is the any of the EF-S lenses on your Rebel G or any other full frame camera. EF-S lenses interfere with full frame cameras mirrors

Certain lenses (depending on the mount compatibility) from SLR cameras can be used on DSLR cameras from the same mfr.
The Rebel G works great with IS lenses, and everything except Canon’s EF-S lenses for small-format digital cameras (or the ancient FD lenses for manual focus cameras that went obsolete in 1986).
So I’d assume the reverse holds also, for which G lenses you can use on which DSLRs. Choose a full-format Canon DSLR camera (vs. one with a small sensor format) to be able to use your Rebel G SLR lenses on a Canon DSLR.
