35mm slr lenses Archives

What camera lenses fit into these two categories. I need to buy them for my sister as a surprise , because she needs them for a job, and I don't know what it means.

Must have 12mm to 105mm shooting lens range on a DX (1.5) sized CCD/CMOS DSLR

Must have 18mm to 155mm shooting lens range on a Full Frame (35mm) sized CCD/CMOS DSLR

I have 3 - Pentex K1000 - with lenses and want to know if anyone buys them.

I currently own a 35 mm Cannon Rebel camera and have some fully auto lenses for it. If I replace my 35 mm Cannon wiht the new digital Cannon Rebel, will the lenses from my 35mm Rebel work on the digital Rebel?

Yes, the digital densors are smaller than 35mm film, and yes, lenses have the same focal length where ever they are used. But, using lenses designed for 35m cameras on digital cameras trims the border of the image, making the lens effectively a "longer" lens. Could someone make an adapter, like a doubler (but instead a half-er) to make the old lenses work comprably with the digital cameras?

Also, where can I buy filters for it? I would prefer to buy used lenses please.

I've got my Dad's old Pentax Program A 35mm Film SLR camera
And I want to buy a new strap and basic lens for it.
Will DIGITAL SLR camera lenses fit for this camera?
Or do I have to spend the next 4 years searhcing through eBay and the newspaper?

Which lense models will fit this camera?

AND OH
HOW DO I CHANGE THE SHUTTER SPEED?
I can't figure it out.

THANKS.

Hey guys,

I just switched lenses on my Nikon D80 dSLR when trying out my dad's old 35mm lenses, and afterwards i noticed that i had accidently left the camera turned on (it must have been from the excitement of trying out my dad's 600 dollar lenses). I know in the instruction manual it says NOT to do this, but is this any different from just switching lenses? Should i reset the system?

I know it's a stupid question, but i'd rather just make sure that it's ok.

...a 35mm film camera with aperture (..5,6 8 11 16 22...) and shutter speed (...8 15 30 60 125 250 500....) control. My old Canon TX is shot and I cannot seem to locate a camera/lenses online. I am not interested in SLR.

hi I'm quite new to traditional photography and using 35mm slr cameras, ive noticed when i try to cap the lens back on with the lens cap, i sometimes think the cap is not sitting correctly on the lens so i fiddle with it until i feel that its completely flat on, i noticed in the light my UV Filter has about several tiny scratches that you can see only in the reflection of light reflecting off the filter lens and its minor, will the pictures that i take still be fine? thanks :}

I'd like to buy a zoom lens. If it says that the lens will fit any Minolta camera, am I good to go? Or do I need to buy a ring or mount or something to attatch it? If so, where can I find those?

Thank you to all the people answering these questions for me. Photography has become a new passion to me and I'm still pretty clueless about a lot of things...

I am currently a student in a photography class, and I need a camera that you can manually set the shutter speed and the lens opening. Does the Canon EOS Rebel TI 35mm SLR camera have the manual settings for the shutter speed and lens opening?

also, i can't figure out how to work the darn thing!! how do i get the film in, how can i attach a lens, where does the flash thingy go, which flash thingy do i choose ( i have three) and how do i open up the camera itself?? thanks for your help!!

The cheapest lens that will work for this camera? It is for a photography class so it does not have to be perfect and like most college kids I dont have much money so please any tips or suggestions!

a 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G AF Zoom-Nikkor lens came with my Nikon 35mm slr camera that I bought for my photography class. my first class was today and for our first assignment he said that he'll only accept a 35-70 mm lens. so do I need to buy a new lens or will mine work. I'm really dumb on all this, but I'm learning! Thanks so much!

Hello All;
I own a Canon 500mm mirrored telephoto lens I used to use with my Canon 35mm cameras.
Like the rest of the world (it seems), I have been using my DSLR (Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D)) as my main camera.
This lens provided spectacular long-distance shots in the old days of 35mm photography, and I'd like to be able to use it with the digital camera...
Is there any kind of adapter out there to accomplish this?
Manual focus doesn't bother me, as I've done it for years, so that isn't a concern.
I'd also like to know that if such an adapter exists, will I be able to focus the camera at infinity, with it in place?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated...

Peace,
Bobby

not afraid to modify, destroy, unscrew, hack, etc :D The main things I'm worried about is how far away i have to put it away from the lens, if it would be unfocused unless i needed a converter from 37mm to 35mm, etc.
There seriously needs to be an option to comment on other people's answers.

lare, what if i left the lens on, and just put a lens over the other lens? such as

i will be taking a photography class and it requires a 35mm camera 50mm lens and a manual override. i have been looking on the internet for some but i can;t find any! im getting frustrated. please help :] thank you

Hello there. I have inherited a Minolta X-700 35mm SLR from my father. The camera works great, but I really want to upgrade to a digital SLR. I have more than 6 lenses and I just need to know is there any way that I can use them on newer SLRs? If so, which ones and/or would I need an adapter? Any extra information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The lenses I have are all manual focus. I hope this helps! (:

Okay, I was interested in buying this camera for my photography class, the Canon 35mm SLR Rebel TI, but my teacher told me I should get a camera with fixed lens instead of zoom lens. What cameras have those?
I meant Canon EOS Rebel TI 35mm SLR manul camera
I'm a beginner, I don't reallyknow the difference between fixed and zoom lens...please help! :P

i'm looking for a non wide angle camera.
or one that has a much smaller wide angle than 35mm
