Bower 500mm review
Bower 500mm is one of the three reflex (mirror lenses) lenses of Nikon, which was very popular in the past. This lens is similar to lenses of a telescope because of the mirrors structure. Their main advantage it their light weight and short length and this is because the "folded" structure of the mirrors. With this lens you can not change the aperture adjuster which is fixed on 8. The lens is designed for a manual focusing.
It has a much different rendering of out of focus areas than a normal lens. Also, there is no colors distortion. The colors come out as in reality.
There is no automatically light measure but only manual.
This reflective lens there is also no spatial distortion. However, since there is a small mirror on the optical axle in the front part of the lens, the reflective lens creates bokeh similar to round bagels.
Because of the relatively small aperture adjuster it is more sensitive to "licking" of light from the eyepiece and for creating under-exposure which entails bleaching and flooding of noise (snow). It is important to make sure to make the light measuring when the eyepiece is covered whether by hand or by eye.
When holding this light lens it is impossible to believe that it has focus length of 500mm. the weight and length can be very misleading. In spite of her light weight, using it entails all the precautions of a long lens: a massive tripod and a strong tripod head.

I got a Rokinon 500mm mirror lens. And it did not really come with any instructions on how to mount or use it. Does anyone know where I can get information on it, like a website that would be informational? Thanks for reading my question.
I was searching for an external flash for my Canon XSi when I came across this website.
http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Rokinon-E-TTL-II-Power-Zoom-Canon-compatible-Flash/4046978/product.html
It states that Rokinon is Canon EOS rebel compatible. It is also ETTL_II flash.
Has anyone heard of this flash? Is it suitable for my XSi? Is is really compatible with Canon EOS SLR and DSLR camera?
ROKINON AUTO ZOOM F=80-200MM LENS 1:4.5 PENTAX
got the lens in today and it wont attach to my camera. where can i get an adapter so it will fit?
1) there is nothing wrong with my camera. its brand new and i have the kit lens and it works perfectly.
2) I only have invested in this Rokinon lens..so whether it works or not....i didnt go into debt to get it. Not sure if i can return it, as it is used..but i already emailed the seller to see whats the deal. they assured me that it would work with my pentax but i am lining it up correctly but it just will not attach...figured i'd give them a shot to fix the problem with maybe sending me an adapter of some such. I wanted to contact pentax but they were already closed when i opened the package tonight..will try with them in the a.m.

~ROKINON AUTO ZOOM F=80-200MM LENS 1:4.5 PENTAX~
I know there are loads of differant types but im just looking for the fundamentals of photography adn choosing differant lenses..
My dad's regular SLR is a Pentax, and he has the regular 18-50 mm lens that came with it and also a Tamron 50-200 mm lens that's compatible with the Pentax. My question is can these lenses be used with any Pentax digital SLR, or would I have to buy a certain model?
Thanks.
I'm trying to buy a SLR lens for my Nikon D80 camera. I am desiring a close up lens for shooting things like flowers, bugs, textures, coins ect... SMALL THINGS!
So do I want a Macro or a Micro?!!! Please explain. Thanks.
I recently purchased a Minolta X-700 SLR camera that has several lenses. I am hoping to find a DSLR Camera that will work with these manual lenses, there are two adapters I have too. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
- TAMRON Aspherical LD (IF) 28-200mm
- TAMRON CF Tele Macro 80-210 MM
- MINOLTA Haze 49mm (UV)
- Samyang 18-28mm Fish eye lense
- Vivitar MC Teleconverter (Adapter)
- Adaptall 2 M/MD (Adapter)
I'm hoping to find a digital SLR that can utilize these lenses. I also have several other accessories with the camera:
- Couple dozen filters
- Vivitar Series 1 Flash
- Tripod
- Lens cleaning kit, etc.
What would the advantages be of using a f/2.8 17-85mm instead of 1.8 50mm digital camera SLR lens?
I know the costs are not even close, but is the only difference that the one will zoom and the other is fixed? I just want a nice lens I can use at weddings and for portraits without getting blurred photos.
I have an analog Cannon SLR Camera along with the zoom lens. Can I use the same lens if I buy Cannon digital SLR?
I use a 70-300mm vr lens, what should i upgrade to? what camera men use on the NFL sidelines? are those 500mm 2.8?
Should i just keep using my lens until i can afford a 2.8 300mm? or better to save up for a 400mm 2.8?
I haven't actually started taking pictures but I already know I want a Nikon D3000. I really like pictures taken with a fisheye lens. Would this be a good lens for me to save up for so I can get it when I get my camera or should I take pictures for a little bit and then buy this lens?

I have an old Pentax Spotmatic SLR that the body is shot. I do however, have all kinds of lenses, macro attachments, and slide copier. My question is: Is there a digital SLR camera available that I could use the old Pentax accessories on? The body accepts 50mm screw-on lenses.
I have used point and shoot cameras for 2 years and would love to graduate to digital SLR cameras.
I would prefer a camera which is not too new in the market.
I am doing AS photography and am saving up for a digital SLR camera, I do not have that much monney, and most of the cameras I have looked at are around £400, this is fine, but I am not sure what I should get, or should I buy the lens seperately, any suggestions on what camera/ lens i should get, and where i can buy them from, thankyou
What does the AF-S ED mean on a camera lens?
What does the G mean after the F2.8?
At the end of the lens it says IF-ED, whats that stand for?
Looking for a digital SLR. Since I have a Minolta SLR and a few lenses. I was wondering if I could use these lenses on a new digital SLR.
Minolta is now owned by Sony Corp. I found that minolta lenses with the A-mount will work with the digital SLR alpha series. I just dont know if my Maxxum 330 is an A-mount.
