should i get the kit with the 18-55mm lens in it, or should i buy the body, and then spend a little extra money on a seperate lens? also, if you have any other suggestions for digital SLRs or websites to shop at, that would be amazing.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel Xti 10.1 Mpixel camera with the standard 18-55mm lens. I want to buy a Tiffen lens kit. I thought I should buy a 55mm lens kit; however, I purchased this camera through NewEgg; they try to get you to purchase a lens kit with the camera. The only thing is, they are offering up a 77mm lens kit. So, now I'm confused. What gives?

Nikon D300 with 18-55mm lens and 55-200mm lens or Nikon d90 with a 18-200mm lens? I don't mind switching lenses but.. What do you guys think is a better deal?
And guys yes I have experience using a Nikon DSLR so using it is no problem for me.

I have an EOS 350D with an 18-55mm lens.

I would like a different type of lens (wide angle or telephoto) that is about £200. could someone give me an idiots guide to what all the terminology means and how the mm's equate in picture terms.

i.e. a 10-20mm will give a wide landscape/close up etc etc...

Where can I buy a lens cap for a Canon SLR August 31, 2009 | 11:31 pm

My son has a Canon EOS 400D SLR camera. He got the 18-55mm lens with it. He was recently on a camping trip and has come back without the cap for the lens. I am worried the lens with get scratched if we don't buy a new cap. Although we've looked in quite a few shops, we can't find any. Any there any online shops that would sell them?

Ok found a great deal on Nikon D60 10.2 Mega pixel digital SLR camera. i plan on buying it but i also want to order an extra lens or two. I dont know much about pro photography but im learning. i read up on the different mm's and what they are used for. the Nikon comes with an 18-55mm lens but i want a telephoto to go with it. i found a good deal on a 20-210mm lens on amazon but my question is = how do i know what lenses will fit on my camera??? are all lens the same fitting? is there a specific size fitting? i saw something about a aperture range but that does not sound like a physical "thing" more of something to do with light.

is there anything else i should know about cameras before buying/ in general?
ALSO: whats a good multi purpose size/ dimension (mm) lens

Any advice on lenses for Canon Digital Rebel? July 13, 2009 | 09:25 am

I have the EFS 18-55mm lens that came with the camera and it is quite good but, it is a bit lacking if you get out of auto or program modes. I got nothing but confused looking at Canon's website for a better lens. Some will fit only certain digitals. I have all the 35mm film lenses I need so I'm not looking for one that fits both types of camera. However, I would like a lens that is not dedicated to the Rebel should I decide to upgrade my camera in the future. Right now I am looking for a wide angle zoom with large enough aperture to blur background. I haven't been able to achieve this with much success with the 18-55. Any thoughts out there worth looking in to?

I have a 17-55mm lens and a 75-300mm telemacro lens and i am thinking about purchasing macro additions to the lenses, for macro shots. is it best to buy for the 300mm lens or will i be able to accheive the same affect with the 55mm lens?
