Hello again and thanks for the info on my previous question of Nikon D3000 VS Canon XSi. I've decided to get the Nikon D3000 with 18-55 mm lens so I can learn the ropes for a couple of years. Now my question is for a good Telephoto Zoom lens with some macro capability just in case. I found a Sigma lens on B&H: the Sigma 70-300 mm. f/4-5.6 DG Macro Autofocus AF-D Lens. I've read the reviews and so far it seems like a very good lens- I saw similar things on Amazon where people praised it. I know and understand the things I see repeated so many times it pisses me off by now:

A) You get what you pay for. (Not necessarily true IMO but that's another story, not in the mood for ranting about it)
B) First party is always superior.
C) Do not buy third party unless you're in absolute necessity. ( -_- )

However, I've made up my mind. My belief from experience with a Vivitar V3800N film SLR (yes I owned a Vivitar) is that any lens will do as long as you understand it and practice with it and understand its intricacies so you can work with them to the best of your ability. That is my stand. But I digress- returning to subject: if you have used them, are you happy with the results? I've seen pictures taken with this lens and they seem very good but just in case.

And please, PLEASE, don't answer things like OH MAI GADZ BUY FIRST PARTY LENSES BECAUSE INSERT BRAND HERE SUCKS because that is not the question. I'm asking if a Sigma lens has worked for people. Comparing it to Nikon or Canon lenses is another subject entirely- and not the thing I'm looking for. Thank you! :)

I'm looking for a wide-angle lens and a fish-eye lens of some sort for a Canon Rebel G. I'm not sure if they make real lenses for this thing or if this is just how they are for older cameras.

Are any of these decent?

Are there any better options out there for this camera?

I haven't actually started taking pictures but I already know I want a Nikon D3000. I really like pictures taken with a fisheye lens. Would this be a good lens for me to save up for so I can get it when I get my camera or should I take pictures for a little bit and then buy this lens?

I currently have the Nikon N80 film SLR camera and was wondering if I could use a Sigma dSLR macro lens on it. This is the lens I'm looking at:

I know that this lens can be used with Nikon dSLRs, but I don't know if most dSLR lenses can be used on a SLR.

Thank you so much!

I plan on buying a Canon EOS 450D and two lenses, a tripod and a camera bag. It's my first SLR so I figured I should get the equipment!
Is it safe to ship an SLR camera? Would there be any damage to the sensor and such?

So far,Amazon and B&H Photo seems like the best picks.

plz tell me if this is a film camera
and if this camera can work with out the lenses, and will the picture come out okay.

I cant afford a really expensive fish eye lense for my nikon d 80, and yesterday I came across this. Does anyone have one, and can tell me if its even worth the 60$? Will this even work on my 28-80 mm lense? here is the link:http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Design-Digital-Lenses-Minolta/dp/B000S6OBAG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Thanks

Ok found a great deal on Nikon D60 10.2 Mega pixel digital SLR camera. i plan on buying it but i also want to order an extra lens or two. I dont know much about pro photography but im learning. i read up on the different mm's and what they are used for. the Nikon comes with an 18-55mm lens but i want a telephoto to go with it. i found a good deal on a 20-210mm lens on amazon but my question is = how do i know what lenses will fit on my camera??? are all lens the same fitting? is there a specific size fitting? i saw something about a aperture range but that does not sound like a physical "thing" more of something to do with light.

is there anything else i should know about cameras before buying/ in general?
ALSO: whats a good multi purpose size/ dimension (mm) lens

more specifically, the lens with this camera, http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Rebel-2000-Camera-28-80mm/dp/B00001QEMF with a canon dslr, like the xti or si, or any digital slr.

thanks for any help.

I have an Olympus SP 510 UZ/ 7.1mp/10 zoom. I purchased the conversion tube to give me a 55mm thread. I seen on the internet with,Ritz.com and with,Amazon.com that there were alot of cheep prices on the SLR lenses made for different Model cameras. I plan on buying a 75mm-300mm zoom lens,so will the SLR Lenses fit my camera if it says; Accepts 55 or 58mm Filters. I know I would have to but a step-up ring, if I got a 58mm lens. Also, I have another question about Amazon.com; I seen prices for a 75-300mm Cannon SLR lens for 119.00, is this an auction site,or is there a catch to it; like a high shipping fee.
