What camera lenses fit into these two categories. I need to buy them for my sister as a surprise , because she needs them for a job, and I don't know what it means.

Must have 12mm to 105mm shooting lens range on a DX (1.5) sized CCD/CMOS DSLR

Must have 18mm to 155mm shooting lens range on a Full Frame (35mm) sized CCD/CMOS DSLR

I've got my Dad's old Pentax Program A 35mm Film SLR camera
And I want to buy a new strap and basic lens for it.
Will DIGITAL SLR camera lenses fit for this camera?
Or do I have to spend the next 4 years searhcing through eBay and the newspaper?

Which lense models will fit this camera?

AND OH
HOW DO I CHANGE THE SHUTTER SPEED?
I can't figure it out.

THANKS.

thanks for the answers so far. So is the issue the difference in brands, or is it that digital and film camera lenses are incompatible. ie if i bought a cannon digital camera, could i use my existing cannon film camera lenses with it? thanks!

...a 35mm film camera with aperture (..5,6 8 11 16 22...) and shutter speed (...8 15 30 60 125 250 500....) control. My old Canon TX is shot and I cannot seem to locate a camera/lenses online. I am not interested in SLR.

I inherited a Canon T70 film camera and i don't really understand how to use the camera lenses/features? I don't really know what the lens markings mean ex. 50mm? I would appreciate a quick guide on what everything means on this old school beast?? Thx

I'm interested in learning some basics about telephoto camera lenses. I was expexting to see the magnification described as 2x, 3x etc., but instead I saw an ad that said "Magnification: (65 to 600mm)", I don't know what that means.

I am thinking about buying a digital camera that also does movies, and a lens for photographing wildlife. I would like to do extreme closeups from 50-100 feet away. After researching, I would like to take a chance on ebay and get the most zoom for the buck. General 'newbie' tips appreciated.
Thanks averyone. Fredshelp, this was very well stated, "The 2x, 3x 10x designations are really just the rough result of dividing the Telephoto number by the Wide Angle number." Now I see, I will start researching when school lets out, but the great posts here will be a good launch.

I need to find a digital camera that can use older SLR camera lenses. What kind of mounting system would it need to have?

My grandfather has tons of old Canon film camera lenses and filters and I'm wondering if when I buy a XS or XT if I'll have to get a lens too or if I can use his lenses.
Sorry not sure what kind of camera he has.
Thanks.

Do Canon A-1, AE-1 (etc) Film Camera lens fit Canon Rebel xti (etc) digital camera lens? Are film camera lenses interchangable with digital cameras?

I'm looking for an online store that sells used and new camera lenses for digital camera.

I'm thinking about buying this camera lenses Rokinon 650-1300mm ultra-telephoto zoom lens, for my Canon 40D. I didn't want to spend ,000 plus on a lenses yet, I'm a beginner at all this camera stuff. so as a beginner will this lenses be ok for me. unless ya'll think you can find a better one for me please let me know.

Most 35mm film camera lenses have a screw thread on the inside of the lens housing at the front, which is used to attach filters or a sun hood. The diameter of this thread is usually marked on the front of the lens in millimeters, such as 49, 52, or 55, followed by an "o" with a diagonal slash through it. I need to know the name of this measurement. (It's not "focal length".)

i have a series of camera lenses i used w/my canon A1. I am considering acquiring a newer model of canon's digital EOS cameras. i don't w/c model would be best that i can use my old canon lenses with.

Im just going into photography now. I know very little. I was recently given a Nikon film slr camera with a set of awesome lenses. I was planning to buy a Nikon digital slr camera and was wondering if I could use the film camera lenses on the digital camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are the camera lenses they use at NFL games? Usually you only see Canon for some reason, but what do you think they are using? prime fixed lens 200mm 2.8? 300mm 1.8?
