Which are the digital cameras that are compatible to external lenses? If a camera support external lens then is it compatible to particular brand only? Can I buy a digital camera worth 0 -0 and a lens worth 0- 0 which is compatible to that camera?

Do most digital cameras have optical lenses or digital zoom lenses?
Yes, the digital densors are smaller than 35mm film, and yes, lenses have the same focal length where ever they are used. But, using lenses designed for 35m cameras on digital cameras trims the border of the image, making the lens effectively a "longer" lens. Could someone make an adapter, like a doubler (but instead a half-er) to make the old lenses work comprably with the digital cameras?
i want to know if there are any digital cameras, around 0 or less, that have the capability of taking really great macro/up close shots - really clear shots, with out having to buy additional/separate lenses? i want to do super macro shots! but then i get confused when it comes to having to buy additional lenses, figure out different settings, etc. thanks!
I've been doing all my photography with so-called "prosumer grade" digital cameras and have recently begun to understand the limits of those types of cameras. So I'm starting to think about buying a SLR or DSLR body and some lenses. Friends have given me differing opinions on what brand I should go with. I wanted to see what you all have to say about it.
I'm hoping to get some insight into lens quality, availability and options as well as info about the bodies themselves.
Thanks!
Sorry. I wasn't clear on what I was looking for.
I'm hoping to get facts and opinions about brands - not necessarily particular bodies - because I understand that that various brands have different selections of lenses and other accessories with different features and pros/cons on various aspects of quality and so forth. And you're sort of bound to that brand once you buy a body - at least for lenses and some accessories.
I'd like to understand the diffs between the quality and selection of lenses, mostly. Things like whether one brand has a better auto-focus mechanism for example. Or another brand has less spherical distortion in these certain lines of wide angles - that sort of thing.
Thanks!
Is there a way to take the lens apart and set it at f3.5 or f4 manuallly, then use it on a digital Canon camera? The lens is an older model Sigma APO and won't change stops on the newer digital cameras. Was designed for film cameras.
It will change on a film camera. Can I change the stops on film cam, then put it on my digital??
I haven't actually started taking pictures but I already know I want a Nikon D3000. I really like pictures taken with a fisheye lens. Would this be a good lens for me to save up for so I can get it when I get my camera or should I take pictures for a little bit and then buy this lens?

I have a Canon SLR model 500N (that uses film rolls). Could I use the SLR lens 28-80mm with any of the latest digital cameras??
Pls provide details including the model of Digital camera.
I have a Sigma film camera with Sigma lenses. What digital cameras will they fit on? I particularly like the Nikon D80, but I'm still looking - any suggestions on brand and model (regardless if the Sigma lenses fit)?
i know that digital cameras are equipped with various removable lenses, but what about film?

I am wondering if it is possible to shoot any sort of digital photos with my Nikon Coolpix L1 at night (without flash, for those that might suggest the obvious). Are there any special lenses or attachments that I could purchase that I could rig up to do so? I've seen other digital cameras with the IR attachment on top and a "night shoot" option shoot great shots in the dark. So would I have to get a camera specifically built for that purpose, or can something be done?
Do Canon A-1, AE-1 (etc) Film Camera lens fit Canon Rebel xti (etc) digital camera lens? Are film camera lenses interchangable with digital cameras?
Back when I had a lot of money to spend,I acquired a nice selection of Nikon F lenses, for my Nikon Fe.
Now I would like to find a decent camera body to use them for digital photography. I currently have no digital cameras.
But now, the prices on Nikon camera bodies seem out of the question for me.
Thank you for your help.
I am a freelance writer and would like to post my own photos with my articles online. I know that I may need a camera with detachable lenses. Are there any good quality digital cameras that can match or better the 35mm cameras with detachable lenses? If so, what are they?
If I use a Film Use pro Camera lens with a digital pro camera, will it work? My dad has a Nikon N2020 and I was wondering if we can just remove the really long lens of the camera and fit it onto a digital Pro. camera's body. The lens is pretty long and kindof expensive but now since digital cameras are here, I dont want to replace the lens. Any help please?
I am thinking of upgrading from a 35 mm SLR to a digital SLR. I have really good lenses.(Regular which came with the Pentax , Macro and Zoom I bought , they are Sigma lenses.) I have a pentax camera and Sigma lenses. Which are working fine together.
Would the lenses I have been using fit on any digital SLR camera or do the digital cameras require different lenses. someone kind of told me that every digital camera has a differnt mount for lenses. I am asking here because I need to hear it from another source. Thanks
is it practical to sell my nikon slr camera now that digital cameras are being used?
I've got an older 35 mm Canon EOS SLR. I'm seeing a lot of the 28-135mm zoom lenses on sale that come with the Canon 40D digital cameras. Can I use that lens on my film camera?
