If I have a regular SLR camera (Canon)
Is it possible for my lenses to fit a digital SLR?
Whould it have to be another Canon, or would a Nikon work too?
Want to take existing SLR lenses from my Pentax film camera and place onto new digital SLR (when I get one). Same brand. What do you know?
We have a Canon EOS Rebel G film camera with a couple of Sigma lenses (normal and telephoto). We are looking at a digital SLR. I have seen good reviews for the Canon Digital Rebel xti and the Nikon D80. Will my old lenses work for these digital SLR's or will I have to buy new ones? Any recommendations?
I'm looking to get a lenses for my digital SLR nikon. I was wondering if someone could tell me if I am standing in the same position and I want to zoom in on something (right now I have a 35-135mm zoom) would it be better to go with a smaller number like 15-55mm or go 7-300mm? Which one is going to give me more of closer shot when standing in the same position?
I'm about to make the leap from film to a digital SLR. I've decided on the Canon 30D.
I have a couple Sigma lenses (Canon mount) I would like to make the transfer. Can anyone tell me if the following 2 lenses are fully compatable with the 30D?
28-70mm f/2.8 Asperical EX - purchased 1999
105mm 2.8 Macro EX - purchased around 2000
Any thoughts?
My father has a Nikon 70 and I am thinking about gettig into Digital SLR with the Nikon 40 are the lenses compatable?
I'm a beginner, so please try to keep your answers in simple terms.
I'm looking at the Rebel XS...there are two kits within my price range, but with different lenses.

The cheaper one comes with a 18-55mm DC lens for 0 while the other kits comes with a 18-55mm IS lens for 0.
I don't quite understand the difference between the two lenses except that the IS is better technology and has better image stabilization.
In your opinion do you think the IS kit is worth the extra money???
I have got a black and white standard 35mm film camera which has short rubbish little lens.... can I take my bigger better lens off my sony alpha digital slr or will that not work? i do not want to take off the the lens of the film camera unless i'm sure the other one will fit... thanks...
Hi,
I am thinking about buying a D-SLR. I own a Nikon F55 and a canon power shot A400. The Digital SLR can’t be to expensive I am thinking maximum 400 £.. Do anyone have any suggestion for a camera I can buy? And is it possible to use film SLR lens on a D-SLR? (My lens is a
Sigma zoom 28-80mm 1:3.5-5.6 2 Macro Ø55)
Hello there. I have inherited a Minolta X-700 35mm SLR from my father. The camera works great, but I really want to upgrade to a digital SLR. I have more than 6 lenses and I just need to know is there any way that I can use them on newer SLRs? If so, which ones and/or would I need an adapter? Any extra information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The lenses I have are all manual focus. I hope this helps! (:
which is better telephoto or zoom?
whats the difference?
i want a new Digital SLR?
what kind should i get and what should i get with it.
and tell me as much about cameras as you can.
i already have a canon, but its like the film kind, if i get a canon SLR will the lenses work with the other.
I'm looking for a used 35mm SLR. Something made in the 90's would be just fine. What I'd like is it to have features we see on some modern digital P&S's like scene selection, where it will automatically set the camera appropriately for beach or snow scenes, portrait, action, landscape, macro, etc., or allow me to set shutter, exposure and aperture if I wish to.
Must be AutoFocus. Auto-Exposure bracketing would be nice.
Here's my thinking. I figure with digital photography, people are dumping their film SLRs, unless they complement a digital SLR with the same lenses, like a Canon. So what I would want is a brand whose film SLR lenses are not compatible with the digital version.
A little more checking on my part revealed the Pentax ZX-30. Based on this link, it sounds similar to what I'm looking for http://www1.epinions.com/content_7520882308
Hi,
I have been looking to upgrade to a Digital SLR and looking for a good one. I decided to go for Canon Digital Rebel XT/XTi primarily because of 2 reasons:
1. They are cheaper than Nikon with similar features
2. Have friends who have canon lenses, which I can borrow.
Can you give me suggestions on the lenses. I was told that the Nikon lenses are better than the Canon lenses.
Also that Nikon body is more sturdy than Canon.
Any other reasons to stick (or not) to Canon.
Thanks.
Is there any impact on the flim camera lense designation focal lenght when used with digital SLR?

I have a Nikon -80 35mm camera that I love but would like ito convert it to digital i possible. If it's not possible to convert it does Nikon make a Digital SLR that has interchangable lenses?
I recently purchased a Minolta X-700 SLR camera that has several lenses. I am hoping to find a DSLR Camera that will work with these manual lenses, there are two adapters I have too. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
- TAMRON Aspherical LD (IF) 28-200mm
- TAMRON CF Tele Macro 80-210 MM
- MINOLTA Haze 49mm (UV)
- Samyang 18-28mm Fish eye lense
- Vivitar MC Teleconverter (Adapter)
- Adaptall 2 M/MD (Adapter)
I'm hoping to find a digital SLR that can utilize these lenses. I also have several other accessories with the camera:
- Couple dozen filters
- Vivitar Series 1 Flash
- Tripod
- Lens cleaning kit, etc.
I have a couple of AF nIkkor lenses that I bought for use with the film camera N90 and would like to now move on to getting a digital SLR Nikon body. Any insight please? Can I continue using the lens and the Nikon Flash SB28?
We are looking to purchase a digital camera to use in taking photographs of wildlife on our Alaskan vacation this summer. We currently have point and shoot digital cameras but are thinking we should probably get a digital SLR with a telephoto lens. Ease of use would be helpful as we would be novices with this type of camera. Cost is not really an issue as we are looking at this as a once in a lifetime trip and want to make sure we have photos to preserve it. There is no specialty camera store anywhere near where we live so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Looking for a digital SLR. Since I have a Minolta SLR and a few lenses. I was wondering if I could use these lenses on a new digital SLR.
Minolta is now owned by Sony Corp. I found that minolta lenses with the A-mount will work with the digital SLR alpha series. I just dont know if my Maxxum 330 is an A-mount.
I am interested in buying the digital slr but wondered whether i could save some money by only buying the standard lens model.
Rexatar Zoom Lens 85-205mm
Does anyone know if this is compatible w/a Digital SLR Nikon d40 camera?
also, this one:
Asanuma Japan 400mm 5.6 Telephoto Lens
Are either of them compatible w/Nikon D40 or above SLR cameras?
Kiron Telephoto/Macro Lens?
There's a bunch of these lenses, that I've never even heard of...sorry.
The Minolta is an older, 35mm model (SRT 202)and I want to purchase a digital, SLR, to be able to take bird/flower nature pictures (and of grand kids playing sports). I have the telescopic lens but was told it won't work with the newer cameras. ( I inherited camera and lens).
I am looking to buy either the Nikon D80 or Nikon D40 and used both my Sigma lenses with my film Nikon N80 and like both lenses but now I want to upgrade to a digital SLR and want to see if I can use these lenses before purchasing either the D80 or D40 to try to save money. Does anyone know if my Sigma lenses will work with the D80 or D40...thanks!!!!
