im confused, are ef-s lenses not compatible with canon 10D SLR? February 18, 2010 | 01:39 am

i have an old 10d and i was planning to give it to my brother. but when i acquired a kit lens 18-55mm.. it doesnt fit.. i dont want to buy another ef-s lens since it might not go in ..

so the thing is .. will the ef-s 17-85mm fit in a canon 10d.. or only ef mounts ( since i normally have L lenses which are ef ) and i just purchased a kit lens so that i could give it to my brother without burning my pockets for another lens..

thanks in advance

Can I use the lens of my Canon SLR camera on a Canon Digital SLR (the Canon D20)? February 9, 2010 | 08:53 am

I would like to buy an SRL Digital camera, but I'm sure if I can just buy the body and re-use a lens I have with my regular nondigital Canon SLR.

The digital camera I want is the Canon D20.
THe lens I have is EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6

Thanks!
I found a D40 used in great condition for 5, so that's why I'm considering the D20 over the D30.

Thanks
Oops..I meant a D20 (not a D40)

What kind of Canon Film SLR should I get? September 23, 2009 | 06:30 pm

I have an old 35mm FILM Nikon from 1985 that I used throughout high school in my photography class. It came with a Quantaray, Nikkor, and another brand lens I can't recall.I have not used the camera since graduating and have loaned it to my cousin who is taking a class in the last couple of years. The lenses are kinda funky/don't really work and I chose not to invest in buying lenses for the camera especially since I recently made an investment in buying Canon equipment.

I recently purchased a Canon DSLR and have the following lenses(including the kit lens)
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Tamron 18-200 3.5-6.3(<-eh, yeah I know what you're gonna say here)

I'm a beginner here so be easy and be clear with me please.

1. What CANON 35mm SLR camera should I get?
(something that could sustain that 24-70 lens-it weighs a ton-
I would be safe to assume that the rebels are out of the question)
2. How many of the lens I own are compatible with Canon film SLRs?
3.Will I need a lens adapter to use the lenses with the film camera?

Please include any other information, links, or suggestions. Thanks!
Something I could buy under 0 maybe even 400 used probably that Eos 1v would probably empty out my invisible pocket if I have any after buying that 24-70 lens.I'm not looking for something too fancy since for now I rather use my digital. I just know that the rebel is too little of a camera and the other one is too much money for me right now.
I don't need a new DSLR. I use a 1D Mark III. I want the film camera to use when I want to use film, example, taking another photography class that uses film. AE models that use FD are too old for my liking. I don't want to invest in FD lenses, no matter how cheap they may cost. If thats the case I would just stick to my old Nikon and buy lenses for that. Can't I just get some names of cameras by now? I understand the whole EF and EFs thing since.

Lenses for Digital Camera Canon EOS Rebel XT? July 9, 2009 | 06:51 am

I am thinking about buying a Canon Digital Rebel XT. The one I am looking at comes with a EF-S 18-55mm lens. I took a photography class in college about 5 years ago but I really am drawing a blank of well, about everything. Besides, all of my work there was in film though this does seem quite a bit similar. From some things I have read, there is a difference between digital mm measurements and regular 35mm print film measurements. Can someone please explain to me what DIGITAL lenses would be good for what kinds of use? And this may be a dumb question but would my Canon Rebel EOS 35mm lenses interchange with this digital Rebel? Gee would be spectacular if it would but I'm guessing no. Thanks for all the help I'm trying to blow the dust off off of my brain.
