I have a Nikon F801s (analogue SLR) with the flash and lenses mentioned in my question. I now want to buy a digital SLR (Nikon D80) and am therefore interested to know if my old flash and lenses will be compatible with the Nikon D80

We have a Canon EOS Rebel G film camera with a couple of Sigma lenses (normal and telephoto). We are looking at a digital SLR. I have seen good reviews for the Canon Digital Rebel xti and the Nikon D80. Will my old lenses work for these digital SLR's or will I have to buy new ones? Any recommendations?

Hey guys,

I just switched lenses on my Nikon D80 dSLR when trying out my dad's old 35mm lenses, and afterwards i noticed that i had accidently left the camera turned on (it must have been from the excitement of trying out my dad's 600 dollar lenses). I know in the instruction manual it says NOT to do this, but is this any different from just switching lenses? Should i reset the system?

I know it's a stupid question, but i'd rather just make sure that it's ok.

Hello,

I am thinking of getting my first SLR - Nikon D80
My budjet is up to 1100
I would want to get just a body for D80 and a lens seprately
I would not want to buy standard lens 18-55 but one that has better zoom that fits my budjet

Can you recommend any lenses that fit my budjet?

Thanks.

I have a Nikon D80 and I wanted to know if a lens like this:
Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM Autofocus Lens
would work on my D80?
If it wouldn't work directly is there some lens convertor kit I could use?

Are the following lenses compatible with the new digital NIKON D80?
AF NIKKOR 28-85/3,5-4,5
AF NIKKOR 70-210/1,4-5,6
AF MICRO NIKKOR 55mm/2,8

Some say there is a considerable loss of image quality. But then others say there's no problem at all, except the 1,4x focal length conversion.

I have another camera/lens related question... Will the lens work on the Nikon D80?

Any suggestions for a good macro lens for nikon D80?

I'm trying to buy a SLR lens for my Nikon D80 camera. I am desiring a close up lens for shooting things like flowers, bugs, textures, coins ect... SMALL THINGS!

So do I want a Macro or a Micro?!!! Please explain. Thanks.

I intend to buy a Nikon D80 DSLR. I am not sure what kind of lens or lenses(I might buy 2 or 3) I should purchase.

I have a Sigma film camera with Sigma lenses. What digital cameras will they fit on? I particularly like the Nikon D80, but I'm still looking - any suggestions on brand and model (regardless if the Sigma lenses fit)?

I purchased a nikon d80 package for my wife. It was supposed to come with a Nikon 28-80 F3.3-5.6G AF Zoom Nikkor lens but they "upgraded" me to a sigma 28-70mm f2.8-4 DG lens. I don't think this is an "upgrade". Can someone help explain to me if I got taken? Thanks

I want a Nikon f75, f80, f90 or f100, and was wondering if I need new lenses or will my lenses from my Nikon D80 work?

I am looking to buy either the Nikon D80 or Nikon D40 and used both my Sigma lenses with my film Nikon N80 and like both lenses but now I want to upgrade to a digital SLR and want to see if I can use these lenses before purchasing either the D80 or D40 to try to save money. Does anyone know if my Sigma lenses will work with the D80 or D40...thanks!!!!

Okay, I know basically nothing about SLRs and I really, really have wanted one for a long time now. Can someone please tell me about the Nikon D80? I also want a fisheye lens, but I don't know much about that either. Do I have to get a certain kind for the Nikon D80?

Also, around how much would the SLR and the fisheye lens cost together?

So I've decided on the Nikon D80 and now I'm considering lenes. I really like the extra zoom and Macro ability I would get from the Tamron (or Sigma) 18-200mm lenes over the 18-135mm Nikon kit lens. Other than a quiter AF, are there any other advantages to the 18-135mm? Does it work better because it was made specifically for Nikons? How much louder are non silent wave lenes? Are there differences in AF speed?

If there are other lenes I should be considering, I'd love to know about them. And, no, although it would be nice, I can't afford the Nikon 18-200mm VR!!

Thanks.

i have a Nikon D80 and Nikon D70 SLR cameras. what other brands of lenses will work on these cameras? my 18-70mm and 18-135mm both broke this week and i need to find a replacement quickly if i can't find a nikon nikkor lens. please advise

I had a Canon Rebel 2000 SLR with 28-80mm lens. I want to buy a Nikon D80 DSLR and can I use the above lens if I just buy the body only?.
Is this a good fit and compatible.

Thanks for advice.
If not, Can I buy a Canon DSLR just the body and use this lens?

If I have a 18-200mm 4-5.6 digital camera lens is there any need to get a 50mm lens? 50mm 2.8?

Would I just be wasting money or is the 50mm totally different and gives extremely better quality of peoples faces?
Im using a nikon d80

I am going to be purchasing a Nikon D80 and I am looking at packages not sure if I should get one with Nikon lenses or can I go with off brand. And if I do go off brand which is the best/worst and your opinions.

I'd like to know specifically what each one is better for and why/how its different than the other lenses. Also, if any type of these lenses doesn't work with a nikon d80 body, please tell me and which ones it does work with, if more than one. And since there are so many variations within in these broad categories if you have a fav I'd like to know and also, since each lens in these broad categories has their own individual differences please tell me those and they all have numbers like 18-200 or TC-201 what do they refer to? what is a higher number as opposed to a lower one? what would the difference be between 18-200 and 200-18? what do the placement of the numbers refer to? Which ones take bigger pictures or wider pictures or clearer pictures or have more pixels or brighter colors or better color and general picture definition? Thanks so much! I'd really appreciate it if all my individual Q's were answered. I'll defintely pick you as best answer for being helpful with all of them!!!
