I'm just curious.....I have a couple of film minolta camera's but I'd like to get a digital. I like the Nikon camera's, but have also been told that Sony bought out Minolta and their camera's may work with the lenses I have. Does anyone know about that? And what is your opinion of Sony's digital camera's? Specifically, the ones that allow you to change the lens....not the point and shoot variety.
I recently bought a sony h2 digital camera. I dont have much experience with lenses, nor did i have much money left, so i decided to get the generic brand of lenses for this camera. I put on the lens and set it to the right mode, but the picture picture comes out blurry. For example, I put on the telephoto lens and set the camera to the telephoto mode, and then as i look through the camera to take a picture, I notice the center view was ok but the outer portion of the view had a big blur. For those who have more experience with messing with lens, is this what a GENERIC BRAND of telephoto lens does, or is this what all telephoto lenses do?
i accidentaly exposed my digital camera lens (Sony DSC-H5) to direct sun rays for a second or 2 on the worst case.. ..
will this affect the quality and performance of the camera?
I have got a black and white standard 35mm film camera which has short rubbish little lens.... can I take my bigger better lens off my sony alpha digital slr or will that not work? i do not want to take off the the lens of the film camera unless i'm sure the other one will fit... thanks...
I have a sony A2oo digital camera and am looking to buy a new lens, i am looking at the SIGMA 100-300mm ZOOM SLR LENS 1:4.5-6.7..... does anyone know if this will fit, cheers
does each slr company make its own lenses?
I know canon makes canon lenses. same with nikon.
Does sony use other peoples lenses? Or do they make their own? Same with Olympus?
I would like to purchase new digital camera Sony / Nikon / Canon; so could you please suggest me what are the key aspects I should inspect before I purchase like lenses type, optical zoom, Digital zoom and etc?
I'd like to upgrade to DSLR, but after buying a body (D80) I will only have about 0 to spend on a lens. I've read lots of reviews on the cheaper models and they all seem to have lots of negatives, be it slowness, distortion, fringing, CA or softness. So I'm wondering if the cheap SLR lenses are just crap compared to good SLR lenses or if they are crap compared to point and shoot lenses as well.
Also, what would be the cheapest Nikon (Nikkor, Tarmon, Sigma...) lens is that will outperform the best point and shoot lenses like Sony's Carl Zeiss and Panasonic's Leica.
I know that Sony took over Minolta and understand that Minolta AF lenses will work in manual mode, but will Sigma AF lenses work either in manual mode or AF mode?
I have a new sony digital camera and when it is a moist day i get these black spots on the lens and it stays a long time. It ruins the pictures. What is the cheapest and easiest way to get rid of and prevent the spots from forming. It could possibly be lint. But i dunno. Please give me advice. Thanks!
Looking for a digital SLR. Since I have a Minolta SLR and a few lenses. I was wondering if I could use these lenses on a new digital SLR.
Minolta is now owned by Sony Corp. I found that minolta lenses with the A-mount will work with the digital SLR alpha series. I just dont know if my Maxxum 330 is an A-mount.
My Praktica BC1 model came with zoom and wide angle lenses. They have M42 x 1 thread and I would like to use them with a new Digital SLR camera. Do any of the modern Digital SLR cameras (Canon, Minolta, Sony, etc) have the same thread, and so may be compatible with the lenses I have? Thank you.
I have a Sony Cybershot DSC H5 camera and am thinking about getting a Raynox telephoto lens and wide angle lens for it. Any opinion on these lenses?
i have a sony cyber-shot and i have gotten some smudges on the lens. i need something that would work besides a cleaning cloth made for a camera. anything at home? like a cotton wool bud? or what else??
thankyou
i dont have time to go to the store i just wont to clean it tonite.
I have not been able to find any reviews on this flash and I would like to buy it if it works well. the flash that is made for my camera is 300.00 this one I can get for 70.00 I have a sony a 200
I have many good Minolta Rokkor lenses I've used on several Minolta SRT camera bodies. I understand that Sony bought Minolta so will any of the Sony digital bodies fit the Rokkors (like the older Pentax lenses do with current Pentax digitals)?
i accidentaly exposed my digital camera lens (Sony DSC-H5) to direct sun rays for a second or 2 on the worst case.. ..
will this affect the quality and performance of the camera?
i just noticed that in the finder lcd any source of light produce virtical blue -or magenta- lines.. but when i capture the image it is clear from any lines.. is this normal?
I'm the Director of Photography on a feature film that we're going to start filming in April or May 2010. This is a small budget film because that's all we can afford, so I'm trying not to use a huge budget on camera. The Director and I have decided to film digital at 30P in a 35mm film mode, because it's not a major theatrical release (Sundance Film Festival and maybe a local theater). So, I was thinking that a good way to save money would be to use a manual SLR lens (Nikon, Sony, or Carl Zeiss), because they are 35mm photography lenses, and then Cokin filters on the front of the lens. What do you think? Do you think it will work well?
If not, could you give me a link or something to a good video lens website? Thanks!
And by the way, we're currently looking at a Sony HVR V7U or the new Red Scarlet for the camera. They are both about ,000 cameras.
Its a Vivitar v2000 and i cant seem to find other lenses online for it. Or what other brands fit on it... like my sony digital fits minolta lenses im sure you know.. but thats what i mean. I came into some darkroom equiptment and want to start using this camera and brush the dust off it.
Currently I have a simple digital point and shoot Sony camera; I am planning on upgrading to the Canon Rebel XTi. Since I have only ever owned point and shoot cameras I know nothing about lenses. I would like to buy a kit on Ebay that includes the camera body and a couple of lenses. There are cheaper kits that include Tamron lenses or Sigma lenses; and more expensive kits that include Canon lenses. My question is: If I want to save money and go with the Tamron or Sigma lenses, will I be sacrificing quality? Or should I spend the extra cash and get the Canon lenses?
I have a film Minolta Dynax SLR. I would like to upgrade to digital, but I have some great lenses that it would be a shame not to be able to use any more.
If I buy a Sony digital SLR body can I use normal lenses with it?
Thanks.
Just to clarify as I didn't explain too well, Minolta as such do not produce anymore, it is now Sony and they are compatable.
My mom has an old Cannon A-1 and an old Cannon EOS film camera, both of these cameras are from the 80s or early 90s and I was wondering if her lenses would work if I bought a new Cannon digital SLR camera such as the Cannon Digital Rebel XT or a Cannon EOS 20D. Or better yet if I got a new D-SLR would these cannon lenses work with any kind of SLR say for example a Sony or a Nikon?
Sony says Minolta lenses can be used on the Sony A100 SLR and the Sony A200 SLR, but I'm not convinced.
Iv been offered a cheap Sigma 28 200 IF DL SLR lens (Minolta Mount). Will this work on my Sony A200 in auto focus mode and if so will the picture quality suffer as the A200 is not a full frame camera? Thanks
I looked at consumer reports - that rated the Nikon D40, D80 pretty highly. I like the 10 megapixels, but some people have been telling me its all about the lenses. Therefore, What lense to people recommend?
there are standard lenses that come with the nikon d40/80 but I looked at nikon.com and they have tons more to choose from. I'm not sure what I should do.
another more experienced photographer I know bought the sony alpha, and said he is going to use his old minolta lenses.
My price range for the total package body + lense is probably 1200-1500.
Any thoughts?
