I recently bought a sony h2 digital camera. I dont have much experience with lenses, nor did i have much money left, so i decided to get the generic brand of lenses for this camera. I put on the lens and set it to the right mode, but the picture picture comes out blurry. For example, I put on the telephoto lens and set the camera to the telephoto mode, and then as i look through the camera to take a picture, I notice the center view was ok but the outer portion of the view had a big blur. For those who have more experience with messing with lens, is this what a GENERIC BRAND of telephoto lens does, or is this what all telephoto lenses do?

whats a good fair priced telephoto lens? like if i want to take a decent close pic of a sign across the street?

I have a Kodak and a Minolta and I am wanting to buy wide & tele lens for both. The telephoto lens will be mainly used at sporting events, so speed is important too. Any suggestions on brand, type, etc. Both cameras are Point n Shoot, hopefully I can find some good lens to hold me over until I get a dSLR.

i have a telephoto lens on the nikon camera right now, but i want to put the regular lens back on to it. i cant remember though if anything will happen to the film or not if i did remove the telephoto lens thats on it and put the regular one on in its place... HELP ME PLEASE...

I have a Canon 400D (Rebel xti/ EOS 400). Currently I have an 18-55 lens.

I like shooting landscapes and buildings but I'm told that my current lens (18-55) is already pretty wide to begin with. Would a telephoto give me a wider variety of possible shots? Would a 10-22 lens just be redundant because i have an 18-55?
I should have clarified that although i enjoy shooting landscapes I'm also open to the idea of beginning to take more photos of wildlife, sports etc. In other words take advantage of what a telephoto lens does best and forget my landscape obsession.

I guess what it comes down to is this:

am I better suited with an
18-55 + telephoto combo

OR

18-55 + 10-22 combo.

which pair would produce the better variety of shots?

Hi all, I have a number of old 35mm SLR autofocus bodies - 3xi, 5xi, 7000 with a number of lenses: 70-200 f2.8 sigma zoom, 400mm f5.6 sigma telephoto lens, and I am planning to buy a Minolta 5D SLR. I really would like to use these lenses on a 5D SLR body, I know it is possible, BUT I would like some feedback on people who have, or have used the new Minolta 5D. Is the autofocus fast enough?? I take a lot of sport photos: rugby, hockey etc, as well as low light concert photograpy. Can the camera handle the pace??? I would appreciate any feedback. Many thanks!!!

Ok so recently I went through my mom's old items in a drawer and found this dandy vivitar xc-3 film camera with a telephoto lens. My question is how can I find out what type of film it uses ( I already have film in there but I don't want to open the camera up and ruin the film). Also what store can I take the film to to take it developed ( is one store better than the other).
Thanks!

I currently have a Canon Rebel 2000 film camera and a Vivitar 100 - 400 mm zoom lens and would like a digital camera and zoom lens with similar quality. I use my camera for taking pictures of birds and other animals, so I need a good telephoto lens. I feel overwhelmed by all the brands and do not understand the difference between digital and optical zoom. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i'm trying to find a telephoto lens for my nikon n6006. does it have to have a certain number or are all nikkor lenses compatible with nikon cameras?

i'm thinking of buying the nikon P80 or one of the cannon rebels. does anyone have any experience with using a telephoto lens from a film camera on an SLR camera? would i work?

More specifically, a magnetic telephoto lens that fits onto a 35mm digital camera. The BowerUsa site doesn't actually list ANY of these lenses and I can't find them in stock anywhere else. HELP!!

We are looking to purchase a digital camera to use in taking photographs of wildlife on our Alaskan vacation this summer. We currently have point and shoot digital cameras but are thinking we should probably get a digital SLR with a telephoto lens. Ease of use would be helpful as we would be novices with this type of camera. Cost is not really an issue as we are looking at this as a once in a lifetime trip and want to make sure we have photos to preserve it. There is no specialty camera store anywhere near where we live so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently bought a telephoto lens for my digital DSLR to take better pictures of action shots in sports. I am using a 75-300 mm lens. The problem is that in order to freeze the motion, I need a fast shutter speed, resulting in dark pictures. Can anyone recommend a shutter speed that freezes motion but still gets enough light to have brighter pictures or just another tip to help with my picture-taking? Please help me.

I have a Nikon FM2 with the original lens, a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. I am thinking about maybe buying a digital SLR. Should any of my lenses be interchangeable, or does it depend on specific model or what?

A camera with a telephoto lens of focal length 125mm is used to take a photograph of a plant that is 1.8m tall and located 5.0m from the lens.

1)what must be the distance between the lens and the camera film for a sharply focused image?

2)how tall is the image?

Would this be worth buying?
Rokinon 500mm ED Telephoto Lens for Canon EOS
Our Price: 9.99. Would it enable me to get shots of low flying helicopters? (Oh and I have a canon rebel xti if it matters) Thank you all in advance!!

It is a gift for my in-laws, so I want it to be a good piece of equipment that takes great photos, that doesn't necessarily break the bank. Please advise. Thank you in advance!
edit: yes, one with a big zoom, adjustable lens.
right now, their camera still uses film and they were talking about upgrading to a digital camera, but they wanted one with a telephoto lens because they think it takes a better picture...

My husband has a Pentax Digital SLR. I don't really know anything else about it (it's his thing, not mine). He has tickets for a golf tournament and wants a telephoto lens to be able to take pictures of the golfers. I'd like to get one for him for his birthday, but I don't even know where to start looking. What should I be looking for in a lens? What is a good brand? How much should I spend? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have a samsun S630 and would like to know if I could use a telephoto lens with it.
