If you are looking for an adjustable camera, then it is important to choose a camera that can use the most variety of lenses and bodies …. this will give you the most flexibitliy as you build a system.
If you are looking for a P&S camera, then the Nikon and Canon cameras use the most common memory card .. the SD.
Look for a camera that has at least a 3x optical zoom (forget any reference to digital zoom .. ), has at least a 6MP sensor, and either a viewfinder or SI feature (both is better). If you an afford a camera that uses the state of the art Li-ion battery, so much the better.
